Obituary of James O’Neill

It is with great sadness that the family of James “Jim” Sidney O’Neill, 76, of Hilton Head Island, SC and formerly of Alexandria, VA, announces his passing after a long illness with Alzheimer’s. Jim was born in Alexandria, VA to Robert “Mickey” O’Neill and Marion Wade O’Neill Hibbard. He had a long and successful career as a master electrician as the owner of O’Neill Electric Company and engineering supervisor at Alexandria Hospital. He was also a veteran in the US Marine Corp and an avid golfer who loved people. Two of his favorite things to do were “eat crabs and have some fun”! Surviving is his spouse of 32 years, Charlotte Damrow, three daughters and three sons, Lori Thomasson of Linden, VA, Stephen O’Neill of Deltona, FL, Bethany Perry (Richard) of Partlow, VA, Rebecca O’Neill of Fredericksburg, VA, Jeffrey Damrow, (Amanda), of Alexandria, VA, Nathan Damrow of New Orleans, LA; his brother Robert “Bob” O’Neill (Carolyn) of Clemmons, NC; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 10 am.
