Obituary of Michael Randolph Hill

Michael Randolph Hill passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the age of 73. He was the son of Randolph and Pamela Hill and brother to Peter Hill. Michael was born in Swindon, Wiltshire, United Kingdom. He and his family emigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1957. He attended Drexel University and worked for companies such as Bell Labs, SCT and NCS/ Pearson. A love for activities like boating, fishing and windsurfing called Michael to be close to the ocean. In 1984, Michael moved to Hilton Head Plantation, where he and his wife Jennifer Hill (predeceased) raised their three children David, Matthew and Sara. Michael retired in 2010 and was actively involved in community service through the Rotary Club of Hilton Head and loved to travel the world with friends and family. Some memorable trips include a Spanish language immersion trip to Guatemala for 3 months, Australia, New Zealand and numerous cruises that included passage through the Panama Canal and ports of call such as St. Petersburg and Berlin. Michael is survived by his brother Peter (Colorado Springs, CO) his three children and their spouses, David & Carol (Atlanta, GA), Matthew & Pamela (Charlotte, NC) and Sara (Gainesville, FL) and his three grandchildren Alexa, Cullen and Devon. The memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the Spring Lake Pavilion in Hilton Head Plantation at 2:00 P.M.
