Obituary of Katherine Strub

Katherine (Katie) Strub of The Seabrook retirement community in Hilton Head, SC, died September 29, 2018. Katie was born in Springfield, OH, November 11, 1934. Her childhood home was in New Lexington, OH. She is survived by her husband Thomas Strub of Hilton Head, SC; sister, Frances Wager of Essex Junction, VT; son Bernard Strub of Silverdale, WA, son Lawrence Strub of Austin, TX, son Daniel Strub of Austin, TX, daughter Joan Harris of Fulshear, TX, and four grandchildren. Katie attended college at Ohio State University where she met Tom. They were married in 1956 and lived in 17 different homes during their lifetime adventure. She is remembered for her grace and wit. Katie enjoyed playing tennis and bicycling. After child raising, Katie became a paramedic in Texas and also volunteered with Hilton Head Fire & Rescue after moving to Hilton Head in 1995. Katie was a dedicated member of St. Francis by the Sea parish where she served in many liturgical ministries, Friends of God small community, and Children of God prayer group. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church on Hilton Head Saturday, October 13 at 10:30 am.
