Obituary of Eleanor Lindstrom Clark

Eleanor Lindstrom Clark, wife of the late Paul T. Clark, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018. She was 100 and a half years young and resided at Plantation Club Villas in Sea Pines, Hilton Head Island, SC. Eleanor was born in Corning, New York on Feb 23, 1918, the youngest of four daughters of George and Jenny Ericson Lindstrom. She attended public schools in Corning and graduated with honors from Northside High School in 1935, where she was May Queen and Captain of the basketball team, among her many accomplishments. In 1940, Eleanor was married to the late Paul T. Clark and shared 75 glorious years with him in Corning and Keuka Lake, New York, Colorado, and Hilton Head, SC. They moved their permanent residence to Sea Pines in 1976. An avid golfer and tennis player, Eleanor also enjoyed skiing with her grandchildren in Colorado. She was an outdoorsy lady and loved walking the beach and swimming in the ocean or pool daily. She was our official family “Beach Bum”! Eleanor was loved and admired by all that knew her and will always be remembered for her grace, beauty, and her joyful laugh. Her devotion to her family is legendary. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Clark Baker,of Denver, her son, Robert (Lorane) Clark of Hilton Head, her grandchildren Kristina (Sebastian) de Atucha of Denver, Jonathan Baker of Brooklyn, New York, and Jake Meredith of Washington DC., and great grandchildren, Mills and Daphne Eleanor de Atucha of Denver.
