Dear family -
I just found this site and see that Docstar has left this earthly realm to be closer to the stars. I'd like to share the last email I received from her.....she always amazed me and I'd see that I could never keep up with her. I'm so sorry for your loss.,,,,,she was remarkable and I always admired her so. It was a privilege to have known her.......
Thank you,
Laurie Neu

Subject: So nice to hear from you.
Laurie—I’ve had a life with many open gates. And I made good choices for many, many years. I’m 91 years old and I was fortunate enough to make those good choices. Never regretted any of them. And like Frank Sinatra, I did it my way. I retired in 1991 to Hilton Head and found myself as one of the founders of Volunteers in Medicine along with Dr. Jack McConnell. What a beautiful experience. My avocation was to study Astronomy, which I did for 3 years. I started the Astronomy newsletter which has been going out to many people in this country. I have taught in the many schools of Beaufort county and done star nights for lots of students. I received the Hilton Head Island Citizen’s Honor Award. Did work as a docent at our lovely Honey Horn Museum. I have been associated with NASA for 7 years. You can just imagine how much joy it was to be associated with them. At one time, in our CT. hospital there were Charles H. Audet, sr. MD, Charles H. Audet jr MD, Robert J. Audet sr MD, Robert J. Audet jr. MD, Jeanne Amlicke Audet, MD. She married Robert sr. I’m hoping to be around for a few more years. There is so much more to do. Why am I doing this? I made a promise to myself to finish what I have been doing all my life—and what a good life it has been. I hope you don’t mind my telling all of this. You have sent me a few replies via e-mail and what I gleaned from them was that you are a special person, you have a great desire to learn a lot of different things. You are curious to be able to study—the arts or science. Am I right?
Doctor Jeanne.
