Obituary of Ted Allenbach

Ted Allenbach of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and formerly of Redding, Connecticut and Columbus, Ohio passed away on January 15, 2019.

Ted was a loving husband and adored father who is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lauri Allenbach, his daughter, Danna Stanyard and her husband Jeff, his son, Mark Allenbach and his wife Emily, his sister Karen Lechner and brother John Allenbach. He is also survived by six grandchildren who know and love him only as “Grumpy.”

Ted was tremendously kind, generous and loving. He was willing to talk to anyone and interested in everyone. His family will miss waiting for him to finish “making friends” to leave the grocery store; they often joked that it always took a few minutes longer with Ted because he made friends wherever he went.  After being with family, his favorite place in the world was fishing at dawn or watching Ohio State beat up on “that team up north” - both of which he did with vigor up until the end.

He enjoyed an illustrious career of 36 years at Xerox before retiring in 2001 to spend more time on his favorite island in South Carolina.  While on Hilton Head, Ted combined his love for building relationships with his love for cars through working as Sponsorship Director of the Hilton Head Motoring Festival.

In lieu of flowers, Ted requested that those wishing to memorialize him would donate to the Sea Pines Forest Preserve at     https://www.gofundme.com/tedallenbachmemorial

The family will be holding a private service.
