Obituary of Linda B Richards

Linda Richards went to her eternal rest on January 5, 2021 at the Hilton Head Regional Hospital.  She was born in Black Mountain, NC on October 15. 1948 to Earl Edgar and Katherine Bartlett and is survived by her son, David, her sister Lucille and her brother, Wayne. 

 

Linda graduated from Charles D. Owen High School in Black Mountain and went on to become a leading, successful fund-raising executive in Asheville, NC at United Way, the Pack Place Education Arts and Science Center and the Baptist Retirement Home, among others.  She was also a financial advisor at A G Edwards. 

 

Linda also served as an Elder to the 1^st Presbyterian Church and as a member of the board of the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina in Hilton Head, SC.

 

Linda loved life.  Her bright smile and sparkling personality set her apart in any environment.   She was a devoted mother and wife, a dedicated Christian, an avid golfer (as she said “a wannabe golfer”) and a true friend to anyone who knew her.  She loved to meet people and make them feel welcome and right at home on our island.

 

We all love her and wish her a safe and gentle journey to her next home in Heaven.

 

Anders-Rice Funeral Home of Asheville are handling arrangements.  There will be a private ceremony at the funeral home for immediate family and close friends on Friday, January 8 at 11:00 AM.
