Captain Raymond (Sporty) J. Morris, Jr.

Captain Ray, 76, passed away November 18, 2021, at home surrounded by family and so much love. He was born November 12, 1945, in Greensburg, PA, the son of Raymond J. Morris, Sr. and Louise Chambers Morris.

Ray graduated from Massanutten Academy, Class of 1963. Following graduation, he served in the Army and Reserves. During this time, he married Debbie and ultimately settled in South Carolina, where they celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Debbie, are his children Brooke (Robert), Michelle (Billy), Christopher (Nadine), and Carol (Matt), 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a brother Robert (Eva).

Captain Ray spent most of his working career on the saltwater going back and forth to Haig Point. He loved the people, and he loved the water. He would often float in the Calibogue Sound at night enjoying what he loved so much, the ocean.
