Obituary of Roma Brown Ervin

Roma Brown Ervin passed away in her sleep at the age of 96 in Miami, Florida at East Ridge Retirement Community on Jan. 29th 2022.  Roma was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Stella and Claude Brown on June 16th 1925. Roma graduated with a BS degree in business from Indiana University, where she met her husband Bill at an ATU and Phi MU dance.  It was love at first sight for Bill.  The two married on November 24th, 1949 and shared 58 wonderful years together.

Roma and Bill lived in several cities, but it was on vacation where they fell in love with Hilton Head Island, SC.  Hilton Head had everything they wanted in a community. Roma’s love of gardening and flower arranging led her to the Plantation Garden Club.  Her passion for bridge led her to Hilton Head Island Bridge Club, where she became a Gold Life Member.  Roma enjoyed playing golf and volunteer 15 years at The Heritage Golf Tournament.  Throughout the years of being a mother, she volunteered her time as a Girl Scout Leader, Den Mother, and Sunday School Teacher. She truly loved giving back to her community.

Roma was a kind, generous, thoughtful lady with a great love of friends and family.  Roma is survived by her son Doug and daughter-in-law (Mary), her daughter Tracy and her son-in-law, (Timothy).  Grandchildren Lindsay Ervin, Katie Carroll, and Brittany Beyer and two beautiful great grandchildren, Ollie Carroll and Lennon Beyer. Funeral service's will be private.
