Obituary of Gracemary Knapp

 

Gracemary Knapp, 87 of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2022, after a long illness.  She was born June 8, 1935 in St. Louis, MO to Kenneth and Elizabeth Graham. 

 

Gracemary is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Phil Knapp; her four daughters, Kathy Knapp, of Houston, Texas, Libby Knapp, of Hilton Head Island, Nancy J. Knapp, of Hilton Head Island and Jane Britt, of Raleigh, NC; 3 grandchildren, Phillip Coleman, of Flower Mound, TX, Joshua Levy and husband Eric, of Cary, NC, and Elizabeth Johnson and husband Brandon of Wilmington, NC; sister in-law, Susan Hughey of Mount Vernon, IL and brother in-law Tony Knapp and wife Mary of Hilton Head Island, as well many nieces and nephews.

 

She was a book lover, avid gardener, fan of Hooiser Basketball and a sport enthusiast who enjoyed playing tennis and golf.   Her name reflects her classical style and grace.

 

The family is having a private celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
