Obituary of Pansy Allison Marler

 

Pansy Allison Marler died peacefully on September 15, 2022 at The Seabrook of Hilton Head, Hilton Head Island, SC.

Affectionately known as Peegee, she was born In Chattanooga, Tennessee on October 11, 1932, the daughter of Ben Matthews and Pansy Sanders Allison. 

 

She lived all her life in Chattanooga and on Lookout Mountain. Peegee’s business career of 40 plus years was spent as an employee of The Howell Co. and T. H. Payne Co. Her easy demeanor, strong work ethic, and willing, her fellow employees loved and respected her.

 

 Peegee graduated from The Bright School and Girls Preparatory School where she was president of her senior class. She attended Vanderbilt University and the University of Alabama and became a lifelong Crimson Tide fan. She was a former member of The Church of the Good Shepherd on Lookout Mountain and a member of the Central Church of Christ in Chattanooga.

 

Peegee was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Clarence Garrett Marler; her brothers, Joe Hill Allison, Ben Matthews Allison and Newell Sanders (Sarge) Allison; her sisters, Corinne Allison Howell and Liza Allison Goree. She is survived by her sister Mimi Allison McDonald of Lookout Mountain and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

 

 Her family is grateful to Thrive at Brow Wood and The Seabrook of Hilton Head for the loving care she received in her last years.

A graveside service will be held at Hamilton Memorial Gardens at a later date.
