Obituary of Joan McGinn

Joan McGinn of Hilton Head Island, SC, formerly of Deptford, NJ passed away with her daughter by her side, on January 28, 2023.  She was born in Philadelphia, PA to Edward C. Braun and Grace (Kelly) Braun. 

Joan graduated from West Catholic High School. In 1955 she married William McGinn and raised their family in Deptford, NJ. Joan worked for the County of Gloucester in Woodbury, NJ for 25 years. Joan loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.  She also loved the Jersey shore, playing the slot machines and going to dinner and the movies. Those who knew her, knew that inside this quiet mannered woman, there was a joke whose dry sense of humor kept everyone on their toes. Her dry wit and laughter were often accentuated after one of her favorite cocktails – brandy or jack and Diet Coke.

Joan is survived by her daughter Kathleen (James) Warrington of Hilton Head, SC; her son Mark (Theresa) McGinn of Atco, NJ; four grandchildren, James (Kristy) Warrington, Jennifer Warrington, Matthew McGinn, Elizabeth (Darren) Heaps and nine great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband William, her son William and her brother Edward Braun.

A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date in New Jersey.
