Obituary of Ann Lorimer Andes

In loving memory of Eleanor Ann Lorimer Andes who passed away on February 19th, 2023.  

 

To her close family in the latter half of her 94 years, Ann was known as “Gammy” — a devout, social, and yet self-reliant mother of 2, grandmother of 6, and great-grandmother of 9. After her loving husband Hugh “Chucker” Andes left us far too early in 1997, Ann focused on her family while settling into Hilton Head, SC where she proved to be the community card shark while enjoying a glass of Jack Daniel’s on ice… always served in formal glassware.  

 

We’ll remember Ann as a supportive and strong wife who put Chucker’s career first to the benefit of her family.  We’ll remember Ann as a mother and grandmother who loved and traveled to spend time with her growing grandchildren. And to those who carry on her memory — her daughter Nordy Rellas and her husband Jim Rellas; her son Hugh Andes and his wife Karen Andes; her 6 grand-children:  Jackie, Dale, Cory, Victoria, Matthew, and Stephen; and her 9 great-grandchildren — we’ll remember her as “Gammy” whose name carries with it the love, laughter, and appreciation of a family for a life well lived.
