Scott Parker Liggett, 56, of Hilton Head Island, passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Born February 4, 1964, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the oldest son of the late Joseph G. and Nancy (Sutter) Liggett. He was a devoted husband to LouAnn (Oakley) Liggett, loving father to Parker and Mallory Liggett; and brother of Susan (Liggett) Fox and Mark Liggett of Pittsburgh, PA.

Scott was a graduate of NC State University and held both a B.S. in Civil Engineering and M.S. is Construction Management. Scott had a keen intellect and grasp of detail as well as a firm commitment to community and environmental stability. He was instrumental in planning and executing substantial public projects in the Lowcountry, including the beach renourishment and Cross Island Parkway on Hilton Head Island.

Scott was a Boy Scout Troop Leader taking great pride in teaching and instilling lifelong values of trustworthiness, respect for nature, and leading by example. He enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting with family and friends. He loved planning and chasing these outdoor adventures. Scott enjoyed the journey, embracing the simple joys of spending time with others in conversation and laughter. His enthusiasm for the adventure at hand was contagious. Family and friends will always remember time spent with him on those occasions and the easy smile and sense of humor that traveled with him. He will be greatly missed.
