Obituary of G. Ellen Casadonte

G. Ellen Casadonte (nee Loughlin) of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina passed away peacefully at the age of 86 surrounded by her loving family on July 27, 2021. Ellen was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. 

She was a graduate of the Academy of St. Aloysius, College of Saint Elizabeth in Convent Station and Montclair State University where she received her Bachelors degree in Sociology and her Masters in Counselling, Human Services and Guidance.  Ellen was a school social worker and member of the Child Study Team in the town of Harrison, New Jersey for 20 years.

Before retiring to Hilton Head, she resided in Rutherford, New Jersey with her loving husband Joseph, now deceased, and her three sons.

She enjoyed her time in Sea Pines and on the Island.  She was a member of the Sea Pines Country Club, The Sea Pines Women’s Club and the Holy Family Ladies Guild.  She enjoyed playing Bridge and Canasta with her friends and participating in social activities with her Seabrook residential community.

Ellen is survived by her sons, Joseph and Edward.  Predeceased by her son Thomas; surviving are his wife Teresa; adored granddaughters Madeleine Casadonte, Kathryne Gross and her husband Matthew and great granddaughter Remington Lynn along with her many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 5^th at Holy Family Catholic Church. A private family inurnment will be at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church Columbarium.
