Obituary of Kevin Nicholas Roland

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Nicholas Roland, 42, of Tillman, SC. Born in San Jose, CA, Kevin grew up in Charlotte, NC and recently moved with his family to the Low Country, SC. Kevin passed at Hilton Head Hospital on May 31, 2023, surrounded by loved ones, after his fight with aggressive lung cancer.

He had a true love of family and friends and was passionate about all things outdoors – fishing, camping, snowboarding with friends, riding his one-wheel on the beach, or sitting around a campfire listening to music. Kevin was a pleasure to be around. He loved his job and coworkers at the Disney Resort and found joy in making people smile.

His family will cherish the sparkle in his eyes that could light up a room and bring a smile to anyone’s face. His goofy sense of humor and ability to bring lightheartedness to any situation made Kevin a pleasure to be around. Kevin was a friend to many, a loyal and loving husband and father, and an exceptional brother, son, and uncle.

His mother Deanna precedes Kevin in death. Kevin leaves behind Kimberly, his wife of 14 years, his two daughters; Skylar, 12, and Sammy, 10, father; Fred, brother; Scott (Christie), and nieces; Ally, Carly, Valentina, and Alex. He will be missed by countless others.

A memorial for local friends and family will be held Saturday, June 10 at 2pm at Ridgeland Baptist Church in Ridgeland, SC. Ridgeland Baptist Church, 1448 Grays Hwy Ridgeland, SC 29936.

The main service will be held Saturday, July 1, at 10:30am at Bible Baptist Church in Matthews, NC. Bible Baptist Church 2724 Margaret Wallace Rd, Matthews, NC 28105.
