Obituary of Wilbert E. Bach

 

Bill passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the age of 93. He was born in St. Louis, MO. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Missouri Institute of Science & Technology with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1950.  He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity. During his junior year he was editor-in-chief of the ‘Rollamo’ school yearbook. His honorary’ s included Alpha Chi Sigma, One of 17 Knights of St. Patrick, Tau Beta Pi and Blue Key Leadership fraternities, in which he was President during 1950.

His professional career was spent with 39 years at ALCOA in various domestic and international executive sales and marketing positions. He retired 1987 as a group vice president, moving to Hilton Head Island in 1989.

Upon retirement he was a member of Bear Creek Golf Club serving as President in 1994. He was also Director of the Hilton Head Island’s Golf Association. For many years he spent the winters at Sun City Center, Florida where he was a member of Caloosa Golf Club and won the men’s club championship in 1995.

Bill Bach is survived by his daughter, Sharon Ann Blackshire; two sons Stephen Edward Bach (married to Blythe Powell Bach) and Gregory Bryant Bach, along with six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was pre-deceased by his wife of 69 years, Joan Patricia Bach and brother Robert Bach.
