Obituary of James W. Neumeister

James W. Neumeister, age 75, passed away on August 13, 2023, on Hilton Head Island, SC. He was born on November 10, 1947, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to Virginia and Walter Neumeister.  He is survived by his wife, Martha Brooks Neumeister, his mother, Virginia Neumeister, his children: Charles, Megan (Christopher Brueningsen), Anne (Steven DiMauro), and his grandchildren: Owen, Sam, Luca, and Meredith. He was predeceased by his father, Walter.

Jim graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1966 and later met Marty, his wife of 52 years, at Carnegie Mellon University. Following their graduation in 1970, they married and moved to Philadelphia where Jim earned his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  Soon after, they settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he embarked on a 30-year career with Procter & Gamble, retiring as Associate Director of Food-Beverage Customer Service and Logistics.

Jim's retirement was marked by dedicated community service. He served as Executive Director of the Cincinnati Observatory and volunteered as Chief Financial Officer for Crayons to Computers, a free store for teachers. He held board positions at The Darrow School and Cincinnati Public Radio. On Hilton Head, he continued his philanthropic endeavors as a member of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Board and supported the Hilton Head International Piano Competition.

A lover of travel, trains, and classical music, Jim's warm smile and quick wit endeared him to all. A memorial service will be held in his honor at 11 AM on October 21st at All Saints Episcopal Church, Hilton Head.  

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory can be made to the Hilton Head International Piano Competition or All Saints Episcopal Church.
