Obituary of Joanne Marie Charlton

Joanne M. Charlton died peacefully in her home on December 27, 2023, on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina at the age of 80.

Joanne was born on August 3, 1943, in Queens, New York. She later moved to California where she resided for 30 years prior to moving to Hilton Head in 1999.

Joanne enjoyed traveling the world prior to her illness with lupus. Her endearing love for God was transparent in the way she lived and treated others. She led by example in her faith in many ways. Joanne hosted her cherished Prayer Group every Tuesday for many years.

She is survived by her son, Gregory Charlton; her daughter-in-law, Lenore Charlton; and five beloved grandchildren, Erica, Wesley, Angelique, Chandler, and Blake. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Hilton Head Island on Saturday, December 30^th at 11 AM. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved son James Charlton and her devoted parents George and Regina (Nana) Jochim in Westlake Village, California at Pierce Brothers Valley Oak Memorial Park. The family would like to give special thanks and appreciation to Pam Williams for selflessly aiding Joanne in her daily life.
