Louise Sternheim

Obituary of Louise Sternheim

The amazing 93-year-long journey of a daughter, wife, mother, grand and great-grandmother.

Louise began her life in New York and graduated from Forest Hills High School and Syracuse University in 1952. She spent several years working in Manhattan, cruising on the QE II, crashing weddings, and living life to the fullest.

Louise met Selwyn in 1955 and together they raised 4 children in Norwood New Jersey. She was an active member of the PTA, School boards, and Band Parent groups. She was also active in the local Independent political party.

Louise and Selwyn had a well-loved place in Ocean City, New Jersey, and retired to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina in 1989.

Throughout most of her life, Louise loved to bowl, play tennis, bridge, line dance, swim, walk, and travel. She was a stubborn lifelong smoker and coffee drinker who ferociously stayed away from doctors and outlived all expectations.

Louise was married for 61 years to Selwyn until his passing in 2018. She is survived by her children; Julie (Ed) Krisak, Cathy Booth, Amy Miller & Andrew Sternheim. She is also survived by grandchildren; Kevin, Andrew, Michael, Rebecca, Alexa, Dane, Matthew and Nicholas as well as great-grandchildren; Alex, Dylan, Selene and Zaria. Celebration of Life Spring 2024.
